Bolt Nut
How can we keep the toilet seat from coming loose? The nut loosens from the bolt that hold the seat on.?
We have a seat with plastic bolt and nut that keep loosening themselves. It is most frustrating to have the seat sliding all over. I realize that we need a new seat, but what kind do we look for in order to avoid this problem? No crude jokes, please.
I think most are plastic these days. You may be able to adapt what you've got by making the fit a bit tighter. When I have a metal screw that doesn't screw in tightly enough, I put in a piece of steel wool. It gives enough extra thickness to make the screw stay in place.
With this approach in mind, you might try a piece of saran wrap - doesn't have to be big at all, just enough to create more friction.
