Speed Chain
Can you use a 9 speed chain on a shimano Sora 8 speed chainset?
I will be using a 9 speed cassette, 9 speed shifters and 9 speed chain but running on a Sora 8 speed chainset, will it work?
You SHOULD be OK. There are a few 9 speed chains that won't work with 8 speed, but most do with no problem. It's going the other way- using an 8 speed chain with 9 speed- that causes problems.
