What is the difference between 6 pts. head light and other amounts of head light?
I know what head light means, I just don' t know how light a 6pt head light racquet is. In other words, I have a 6 pts. head light racquet (microgel prestige mp) and I want to know how far from being balanced it is. Is 6pts. a lot or a little? What's the average?
1 "point" is an 8th of an inch. This would be measured from the center of the frame's length.
For example:
A standard (27") length frame that is 4 pts head light would have the balance point at 13", as measured from the handle. The midpoint would be at 13.5", and the balance point is 1/2 and inch closer to the handle than the center point.
Some of the most head-light frames available are 12 points head light, or 1 1/2" towards the handle from the midpoint. Obviously, even balanced is 0 points head light. So 6 is right in the middle, and 5-7 is very common.
