How do I set up my clip-on aero bars?
I want to set the bars so that they are both perfectly flat, I can get one flat but I cannot adjust the other so that it is at the same angle. Are there any ways to assure that both bars are at exactly the same angle?
Couple things:
1. Optimum placement for aerodynamic purposes is to have your forearms at a 15° upward angle. Not many riders do this because they find it uncomfortable for long distances. Floyd Landis was one of the few riders in the peloton who got his aero-position right.
2. Your question doesn't make a lot of sense. Some aerobars have both sides attached at the front, so there's no way NOT to have them the same angle. Those with individual bars for each arm should be easy to set the same. Unless of course you're obsessing about fractions of a degree, which makes no difference to performance at all. Just eyeballing it will get you plenty close.
